Latest News - Special registration and microchipping session for Coventry trainers announced

07/01/2010

The apparent closure of Coventry Stadium on Boxing Day has made it difficult for trainers attached to the track to complete the registration process for their greyhounds.  To help those affected the GBGB will be facilitating a special one stop microchipping and registration session to take place at Coventry Stadium next Wednesday 13th where microchipping, inoculation and marking up will be provided.

Vet Richard Payne will be on hand to microchip and inoculate unregistered dogs while GBGB officials will be marking up where required and handling the relevant paperwork.  Space will be limited therefore trainers are asked to call the GBGB on 020 7421 3771 to book their slot between 10am and 3pm.

Paul Illingworth, GBGB Senior Stipendiary Steward said:

“Bookings will be taken on a strictly first come first served basis.  Greyhounds not booked in advance will not be accommodated on the day.  We would ask that all trainers bring along with them the necessary fees to register their dogs, there will be no charge for microchip implantation but dogs requiring inoculation will be charged at £20.

“On booking your slot please indicate which services you will require, if your greyhound is already registered then please give the name of the greyhound so that identification can be arranged.”

Greyhounds will not be microchipped without their stud books, any stud books left with Coventry racing office will be available on the day.  Registration fees are detailed in the latest version of the GBGB calendar published December 18th and can be accessed here
