Over the past twelve months almost a million punters have had the chance of a night at the dogs for just a penny. The 1pmealdeal offer, which ran right across the UK is now drawing to a close and organisers have collected the million pennies, which will now be given away in a ‘golden ticket’ style draw when the counter clicks over to 1,000,000. A million pennies is a cool £10,000.
The 1pmealdeal offer, which continues until the end of November, gives race goers entry to the track and a fast food meal for just a penny. The idea was born of the credit crunch in a bid to get Britain back to enjoying itself without spending a fortune.
